Until we got involved with CHOC, we didn't realize what some families go through. We now understand just how important CHOC is to our community and how fortunate we are to be able to rely on CHOC in times of need.
One of the most valuable services that CHOC now offers is mental health care. Until recently, people simply wouldn't talk about it, but families are beginning to see how critical mental health care is to our children's overall well-being. We know that if our daughters, or even their friends and schoolmates, were to experience mental health issues, they would not be able to thrive. We believe that as individuals, we are only as strong as our fellow community members.
Everyone knows somebody who is affected by mental health issues. We had a need in our local community, and we are so thankful that CHOC stepped up. Though we can be certain that CHOC's mental health program is going to be here for decades to come, new partners are essential to ensuring our children have access to life-saving care.
To any parents or grandparents reading this—you can directly improve the community that your children and grandchildren live in, helping to safeguard their long-term well-being.
We all want our kids to grow up mentally, physically and emotionally healthy, because they are the future. Looking ahead, we hope you consider including CHOC in your estate plans, making not only a difference for our community's children, but their children as well .
